BIBLE INSTITUTE OF CORRESPONDENCE
COURSE: ECCLESIOLOGY IV LESSON # 58
CHURCH COVENANT AND ARTICLES OF FAITH – ARTICLE OF FAITH CONCERNING THE CREATION
Read: Genesis 1: 1 and 31
INTRODUCTION:
1. There are three ways to deny the Genesis account of creation.
i. Atheistic Evolution: (Creation by random mutation)
ii. Theistic evolution: (God creating by Evolution)
iii. The “Gap Theory” (This frustrates the Biblical time frame)
2. We say we believe the Genesis account. Meaning what?
I. THAT THE BIBLE ACCOUNT OF CREATION IS LITERAL
1. All life forms, direct creation.
2. That Theistic Evolution offers no explanation.
III: All life produced after kind.(Gen 1:12
3. That the six days of Gen. 1
II. THE CREATION WAS COMPLETED WITHIN SIX DAYS
1. Both “The Gap Theory” and the “1000 year day” theory deny this.
2. They are both cowardly surrenders to “Science so called.”
3. Gen 1:31-2:2
4. All age determining methods assume evolutionary creation.
5. God created an adult world, and it is thus undatable.
6. Jesus said God did it all “In the beginning. “Did He?
III. THE GENESIS ACCOUNT IS SCIENTIFIC BECAUSE:
1. All life forms still bring forth AFTER THEIR OWN KIND.
III: By the impossibility of cross-breeding chromosomes.
2. Plant life-forms do the same. (Ill: By grafting.)
3. The Genesis method is both demonstratable and observable.
4. Claims that mutation equals evolution deliberately are false.
IV. DIVINE CREATION IS ESSENTIAL TO ALL OTHER BIBLE DOCTRINE
1. To the validity of Scripture.
2. To God’s ownership and governorship of the universe.
3. To His omniscience and Integrity of design.
III: Theistic Evolution claims “Trial and Error” progression.
4. It must be so if it was at first “Very Good.” (Gen 1:31
5. To the claim that God made man in His image.
6. To say that man was, from the beginning, given dominion.
7. To have, from the beginning, instituted marriage.
8. To have, from the beginning, held man responsible.
Conclusion: Where a man or a church stands on creation will indicate where he stands on most all Bible doctrine.
